I am a young hard working individual who will work every hour giving seven days of available, I have high expectations and goals, I have gathered many skills and a lot of experience over the past 3 years working in different aspects of utilities such as power and fibre, after achieving my level 6 diploma in the fibre sector I'm looking to carry the skills I learned along with me in my career In any industry. I am never late to my work and thrive to the best of my ability day to day making great relationships along the way. I am now at a stage in my life where I'm looking for new challenges and new ways to collect knowledge.

Apprentice - Telecommunications at KEIR

After leaving college with my level 5 electrical engineering qualification I started my apprenticeship in the telecommunications industry with Keir where I covered all aspects of the network start to finish. The system we went with was 4 months on each sector starting the first 4 months with the planning and civils work such as track work and blockages then the second 4 months learning the skill of cabling internal and external then the next 4 months mastering the fibre splicing technique which I took a liking to and learning to read the job pack and the network line from the hub through every chamber and splicing Bomb to the customer. And the last 4 months we mastered the residential cabling (FTTP) I also really enjoyed learning this skill from dealing with customers to blowing fibre I enjoyed every aspect of this and then we done a lot of classroom work learning more about health and safety when working on site and carried along a lot of in house tests on this which had to be completed in order to achieve the final qualification.

Lead Tech - Blockage Squad at KEIR

Once I had completed this apprenticeship I stayed with the company and progressed to a lead tech running a blockage squad in small civils work where we were hitting daily and weekly targets of smashing 3 blockages a day and a overall 15-20 over the full week working weekends to make sure these targets are achieved.

Civil Crew Member - Power at ARBOUR SERVICES

From this job I moved on to a new challenge in my life where I joined a civil crew working on the power doing work for a company Glennelly. Here we were giving a job to complete in 6 months and me managed to achieve this 800m overlay in just under 5 months pulling cable and reinstating along the way and constantly setting up SLG correctly with 0 service strikes. I also worked on call for this company doing the power faults with Scottish power sometimes doing shifts up to 20 hours this shows the determination I have to get the job done.
