I am Lacey Evans, whilst I was at high school, I achieved the role of cultural ambassador, supporting the school with the future growth of culture within the school as well as ensuring all students with a different culture feels welcome and safe within our school. Furthermore, during my time as ambassador, I played a key role of helping the parents of future students understand the cultural growth within the school by showing them the different facilities that we have within the school, such as the Modern foreign languages department. Moreover, as part of a project with my school, I helped pick up litter and remove it from the streets and parks in order to ensure complete cleanliness and safety of children's parks.
When receiving my GCSE results I had passed, doing the best in photography, achieving a Grade 4, going further to achieve a certificate for passing my level 3 photography course. In addition, once joining college, I ensured that I put myself out there in order to achieve a role of Student Voice representative, therefore, making sure that my classmates had the best experience whilst still learning by talking with the head of department about what is needed within the class. Furthermore, whilst in college, I volunteered to take pictures for a Barnsley Fashion week in order to gain a lot more experience, as I got to take photos of famous people such as Danny Malin and Sophie Mei Lan.
Additionally, I also took pictures of Ms Poland, who also went on to posting my photos on her social media. On top of helping out people and the environment, I can bring strong communication skills and excel at working with a team as I am really enthusiastic about what I do. Overall, I am able to complete tasks efficiently and ensure that all jobs are done to the highest standard so that the following day is much easier to accomplish.
Team Member at Taco Bell (2025-10 – Present)
Waitress and Bar Staff at WETHERSPOONS UK (2023-07 – 2025-10)
Since joining Wetherspoon, I have gained new skills such as making different types of drink like cocktails and spirits due to me working most of my time behind the bar. Whilst working at Wetherspoons I have enhanced my time management skills ensuring that I keep ahead or alongside the rest of my colleagues as we have to work at a quick pace, in order to make the customers keep a positive outlook of the service and ensure that they are not made to wait longer than they should. If a customer orders of the app, we will ensure that the order goes through as quickly as possible to reduce the wait for the customer and ensure an excellent customer experience.
As part of my job I have found it easier to build relationships with my customers, increasing the chance of them being a repeating custom. Throughout my shift, I would carry out tasks such as cleaning out the glasswashers, bottling up fridges ensuring that the stock is ready for the following day so then it is easier to equip the next day. Furthermore, my cleaning tasks include sweeping up, removing nozzles and mopping up behind the bar, to ensure the best work environment for the next persons shift.
Photographer at Picture House Venue (2022-09 – Present)
When I attended Barnsley College, I was put onto a placement at the Picture House Venue which allowed my skills within Photography to grow. This included photographing certain events such as weddings, birthday parties and festivals. For example, I was put as the photographer of 90s themed birthday party.
This meant that I had to use my creative thinking to understand how to set up the birthday theme, in order to please the customer. This helps me improve my creative thinking skills and enhances my decision making skills, therefore helping me improving my work whilst under pressure. Overall, this experience has allowed me to shape myself as a photographer and do my own work.
For example, I have worked within my own business, photographing weddings and someone headshots for their website. During the wedding shootout, I had to adjust the angles and the lens of my camera to achieve the best photos and also had to adjust the lighting in order for it to align with the theme of the wedding. Whilst doing these events, it has supported me with my own growth, helping me to develop new skills such as communication as I have to talk to my customer in order for them to understand what I need them to do and confidence so then my customer can hear my voice clearly and understand what I'm saying.
Furthermore, I had to do headshots of someone for their website, therefore I needed to build a relationship with them in order for me to organise a date and time for the photoshoot, helping me improve my management skills. For this, being a photographer has helped me learn a lot of new skills such as confidence, whilst also enhancing some skills I have already learnt like my decision making skills. Therefore, by improving all of these skills, my photography has helped improve me as a person and has given me true values of determination and driven me towards all of my goals of becoming a photographer.

Whilst working at Fairway, I served food and often would make desserts for the customers given that it was a part of the job, helping me gain new skills such as food presentation. Other parts of my job is I had to check on designated tables, respond to requests as immediately as I can and then receive customer feedback, either replying with thank you or asking what could possible be improved the next time they come to the restaurant. Furthermore, in order to maximise the positivity for the customers experience, I would ensure that I am sincere whilst I talk with also having an engaging or enthusiastic attitude to make sure that the customer understands that I am giving them my attention whilst I serve them.
Another key part of my role at Fairway is I had to stock and maintain the cleanliness of the silverware and ensure that all condiments were put back in the correct places. Additionally, to finish my shift I would have to clear and reset all tables ensuring that there is no risk of any bacteria spreading to the customers the following day. In addition to my work within the restaurant, I also had the responsibility to ensure all the children within the Kids Inn have the best safety by ensuring that the Kids Inn is constantly clean everyday.
On top of ensuring the best safety of the children, a part of working within the Kids Inn is that I had to create games and party bags for the children whilst also doing the face painting during the events. Overall, working within the Kids Inn has helped me understand how to run an event as well as how to maintain a clean environment.
