Libraries have always played a vital role in my life as one of the few places I could access books and new information. Having experienced first-hand how valuable they can be as places of refuge and education within our local communities, I feel called to work in this sector and aid others in their pursuits of learning.
Throughout my time as an undergraduate, I have held several posts within my university to help both current and prospective students which has included: JCR Freshers’ Representative, JCR Disabled Students’ Representative, along with both paid and non-paid roles as an Open Day Helper, Interview Helper, and participating in Q+A sessions and tours of my college for students from underrepresented backgrounds.
I have a BA in English and Spanish (2:1) from the University of Oxford. I also speak Galician and Catalan. I am undertaking a Master's in Library and Information Management at Manchester Metropolitan University.
