Leon Hallett

I have been working in the pig industry for 10 years after leaving the army where I also spent nearly 10 years in the Queens Royal Lancers.

I have worked on both indoor and outdoor units that were from breeding to finishing and am confident/familiar with standard husbandry practices that produce high welfare pigs. I am passionate and motivated to always do my best and strive achieve targets.

I am competant with modern farm machinery and familiar with all aspects of farm work, maintenance and even keen to do a bit of jetwashing if need be as every task is important in maintaing pig health.

I enjoy working with a team but also have the confidence in my experience to work alone and make decisions.

I have worked on a 2000 sow indoor commercial unit for the last five years as head of dry sows.

Currently working on a 500 sow indoor breeding to finishing unit as farm manager for a year.

I also have 5 years experience on an outdoor unit.

I have a level 3 qualification in animal health and husbandry.
