As a Class 2 Second Engineer (Unlimited) permanently based in Glasgow, I am looking to bring my experience from international passenger ships to CalMac’s West Coast fleet.
For the past five years, I have sailed with Disney Cruise Line, serving my recent contracts in the rank of Second Engineer. Operating within a high-tonnage cruise fleet has given me extensive experience managing complex medium-speed diesel plants, high-load hotel operations, and a rigorous safety culture. Additionally, I have already completed my Chief Engineer’s management-level written examinations, proving my technical readiness to handle senior responsibilities.
I am particularly well-suited for CalMac’s expanding dual-fuel fleet, as I have completed my STCW Advanced Training for Ships Subject to the IGF Code (awaiting Bunker operations for full CoP) and High Voltage (Management Level) certificate. I am fully compliant to step directly onto your modern tonnage, such as the MV Glen Sannox, and contribute to rapid, safe port turnarounds.
Living locally in Glasgow, I am highly motivated to build a long-term career with CalMac, offering stability, strong leadership for junior ratings, and immediate availability for the 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.
