I am currently employed with Heidelberg Materials as a Chief Engineer on board Aggregate Dredgers, with previous experience on Tugs at Fowey Harbour, Tankers in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as a Engineer Officer, and passenger ships with Carnival UK (P&O Cruises and Cunard) as an Engineer Officer performing a variety of different roles.
Chief Engineer (Aggregate Dredger) - Heidelberg Materials
Chief Engineer in aggregate dredging, responsible for the safe and efficient management of all engineering functions onboard. Extensive hands-on experience maintaining, operating, and repairing dredging equipment, main propulsion, generators, pumps, and auxiliary systems to ensure continuous production and minimal downtime. Proven leadership in managing and training engineering crews, implementing planned maintenance systems, and ensuring full compliance with maritime safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Skilled in troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while supporting high-output dredging operations in demanding marine environments.
Chief Engineer (Tug) - Fowey Harbour Commissioners

I am currently working for Fowey Harbour looking after two Tugs. The Cannis (built 1982) and the Morgawr (built 1978). As a Tug Engineer I am responsible for the safety operation of all machinery during passage and towage.
I perform routine maintenance and repairs on tugboat machinery and systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, working together with the other Tug Engineer, Skipper and Shoreside Management. I also act as the cover engineer onboard the Lantic Bay which is a hopper dredger built in 1958, when required I assist at the harbour's maintenance yard. I am currently in charge of implementing the Harbour's new planned maintenance system (Seaflux) onto the Tug boats which, if successful, will be implemented onto other vessels in the Harbour such as the workboats and Pilot cutters.
2nd Engineer - Royal Fleet Auxiliary

Tide class tankers largely carry diesel fuel and aviation fuel to supply Naval ships. They have the capability of Replenishment at Sea (RAS), where ship to ship refuelling is commenced underway at 12knts. This was a unique challenge for me as it was my first time on tankers, operating with unmanned machinery spaces (UMS) as well as learning a unique propulsion system which could achieve varies different running modes and configurations.
As a Second Officer (Engineer) I have been responsible as operator and maintainer for Power Generation, Propulsion, Main Engines as well as Air conditioning and Refrigeration. I also had the responsibility of MCR (ECR) Manager where I managed and mentored the other engineers.
