I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, developed through my experience of caring for my younger siblings. This has helped me build a natural ability to collaborate and engage effectively with others. In addition, my involvement in drama club has allowed me to cultivate my acting abilities, while also enhancing my adaptability to different story lines and creative directions.
As a student of Creative iMedia at GCSE level, I have gained a solid understanding of media production, and I am eager to contribute my ideas and suggestions to creative projects. Not only am I passionate about acting, but also being part of a community, a contribution to wider society. I strive working in an environment where friendships are built, I aim to contribute to a positive working environment, and engage with any task enthusiastically.
I am also highly experienced in the Hospitality and Catering sector, and can engage in any task efficiently and quickly, due to my ability to adapt to any task.
Waitress; Part time at Hermitage Hotel (2025-08 – Present)
Working at the Hermitage Hotel, I have gained lots of experience by working with a variety of employees and a variety of customers. This has helped me to learn how to handle different types of people, and expand my vocabulary as a waitress. I have improved a variety of skills doing this, such as communication, elaboration and teamwork.
Doing this job for a year, I have successfully adapted to routine, being on time and carrying out routinely tasks daily, such as, carrying plates to the kitchen porter, carrying various foods and refilling items without fail. I believe I am a reliable employee, especially in the hospitality and catering sector, as I have been able to balance taking care of my siblings and being ready and neat for the job whenever I am needed. I believe this distinguishes me from other candidates of employement, because I have started working in the Hospitality and Catering sector from a young age.
This also builds on my perseverance and willigness to work, because I have followed on from my work experience by getting a contract and securing a part time job.
Caring for siblings at Home (2022-10 – Present)
Taking care of my siblings is a job that I have been adapting to. This sudden change in environment has helped me learn a lot of skills, such as patience, understanding, and providing me with an open mind. Taking care of my siblings has also allowed me to develop a new perspective on work.
Considering I have to be with my brother and sister all the time, I have experience working in stressful environments and making the most of the time I am given. Working with children can be the same as working in a workplace, therefore I am able to be understanding and kind towards my colleagues.
Housekeeper; One week at The Applewood Hotel (2026-05 – 2026-05)
During my one week working at The Applewood Hotel, I have gained more experience in the Hospitality and Catering sector, learning about the most difficult part of the sector; housekeeping. While accompanying my dad and watching how the job is done, I have improved my skills on cleaning, being resourceful and following rules and regulations set by the hotel.
Hotel is a family hotel, the workload is less than average, however it was still quite difficult for me to manage, as I learnt that this job requires a lot of effort and precision. While working here, I have learnt that housekeeping is not quite for me, however I do believe I gained positive experience from working here, and gained a further understanding of the Hospitality and Catering sector. This sets me apart from other people my age, because I have learnt about the full sector by the age of 16.
Server, Housekeeper, Receptionist at Hermitage Hotel (2025-05 – 2025-05)
During my work experience week at the Hermitage Hotel, I was able to acquire a few skills that would be useful in a restaurant setting. The hotel also had a restaurant, therefore I was able to gain knowledge of the catering sector and the requirements to upkeep the reputation of the hotel itself, and the restaurant. Within the restaurant, I had completed tasks that ensured the customers were satisfied with the quality and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant.
The first task I had to complete was cleaning the tables after breakfast. This required communication with the customer, as I also had to pick up dirty dishes from tables. I had to do this task for the 3 days I was placed in the catering sector.
I had also learnt to set tables, ensuring to arrange the cutlery and dishes in a specific order. The demand for the presentation of the restaurant was high, because the hotel itself is a four star accommodation. Therefore, I had to ensure that all I was doing was in perfect order and in time for when the customers are booked.
The expectations of me during my time at my work experience were not directly expressed, however they were implied. I was effectively able to reach the expectations, which required me to be friendly and efficient when dealing with customers. This skill, to me, is highly important because it improved my social skills.
During my time working there, I was able to get a deeper insight on what goes on within the restaurant sector, and the challenges of keeping on time with everything. This was overall a positive experience, and I was able to walk away with a range of different skills and experiences that I could apply at any workplace, with any task I am presented with. This also shows that I was able to adapt to a different type of environment, which I settled in quickly and efficiently.
Online work experience at Kainos (2024-04 – 2024-04)
I completed this online work experience during school hours and I had the responsibility of ensuring my own code is working and it complies with the prompt. During this work experience, I had to demonstrate many skills, as I worked with other people, developed my independence and learnt from my experience, allowing me to further expand my knowledge in Technology. This can help me flourish in a work environment because I can adapt to my environment and get along with other people.
