I have been teaching for more than 15 years, as a qualified school teacher and an English - Italian teacher in nursery, primary and secondary. Since 2021 I have been working as an interpreter with The Big Word Linguistic Agency in London.
I attended two courses in the UK, one in London (interpreting course, 2013) and the second issued by Northbrook College Sussex, University Centre Worthing, West Durrington - PC in TESOL. 2016. During this course, I had the pleasure to be a volunteer in a Reception class, in a private school, not too far from the college. It was a gift for me, as a teacher, meeting the British Curriculum and students, eager to work with me.
I had the opportunity to be part of a summer camp and I worked with four schools and 17 American volunteers.
Now, I am working as a primary supply cover teacher in London but soon I will be living in Spain and it would be great to continue my activity as a teacher or an English tutor.
I love observing children, to discover their best abilities, increasing a permanent confidence in their first, wobbling steps to a successful journey in their life.
Communication, in all forms, is very important, at any level we look at: from the first spoken words to the newest programs implemented in education, science, technology.
The materialization of our thoughts, THE WORDS, own a magical power, as they create reality, a real world that surrounds us, with the pluses and the minuses of our powerful desires and thoughts.
I am aware that communication, correct and timely information, is the key to success in any field, of course, in the personal life of each person too.
We are now privileged in an era where technology is constantly changing, facilitating an amazing evolution of communication, finding answers to issues in education, health, business, politics.
After an initial assessment, my work is designed according to the student's particularities.
Regarding my teaching technique, I prefer a realistic approach, based on the Direct Method, to discover together the importance of communication.
So, the real world and its challenges determine us to a modern methodology, as Audio-Video- Lingual approach, and to other modern methods like Communicative Language Teaching.
Above all these theories, there is the feeling between the teacher and the student, the spark that sustains the development of learning.
In other words, it is about the teacher's experience and this job's joy.
Together we can overcome the impediments of a language barrier, getting not only success in our exams, but also confidence in our communication skills.
During my work in different schools in London, I met students, different ages, struggling with English, shy or too sad that they could not integrate or participate in the class activities. I was happy to support these students, even online, so they could improve their knowledge and change their attitude, to find out every school day's joy.
This is the first step to success, communication followed by self-confidence.
