I have a degree in animation arts, an avid interest in the arts, woodworking and fixing things.
I have worked as an AV Technician for 4 years at a University, with several years covering the role before I was successful at getting the position full time.
My job consisted of troubleshooting problems with AV and IT equipment, usually under pressure, coming up with a solution or an alternative so that lectures could continue with minimal disruption.
I am familiar with Microsoft Office, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Teams, Adobe Creative Suite, and Autodesk Fusion 360 and AutoCAD.
I have worked with students, face to face, assisting them with technical advice, and helping them install projectors, wall mounted TV's, CRT monitors, and encoding videos for presentation. I have conducted several workshops for camera equipment and also AV equipment.
I have Extron training, AV Associate and Control Specialist. I would like to get some more hands on experiences, and some training in other AV systems. e.g. Crestron
I have started my AVIXA training, completing a couple of the courses and would like to continue.
I want to learn more about the AV industry and hone my skills.
Extron AV associate- an online program that provides a foundational understanding of AV technologies, including networking, system control, and digital signal processing.
Extron Control Specialist- The program emphasises practical skills, including system customisation, advanced device communication, troubleshooting, and remote system management, especially with Extron's Global Configurator Plus software.
