As a committed and conscientious Inspector of Health and Safety, I have a wealth of knowledge of workplace challenges and the application of health and safety legislation. I am dedicated to supporting duty holders I have worked with to understand their legal responsibilities and improve work practices. I have experience in working with different industries including metal fabrication, woodwork, plastics, printing and construction.

I have developed excellent communication skills in roles in education, lottery funding and coaching, which enable me to convey complicated information in a way tailored to my audience. I am skilled at conducting inspections, identifying hazards and reviewing documentation and identifying timetables for prioritised action.

• Relationship management - I am required to maintain strong relationships and rapport with duty holders and other stakeholders to enable professional dialogue and legal compliance. I have maintained key stakeholders across public, private and voluntary sectors in previous roles.
• Communication Skills - I am calm under pressure and confident in front of an audience and able to present information verbally and written to audiences of many levels. Identifying legal breaches within workplaces and communicating what is wrong, how to put it right and negotiate timescales is a daily requirement whilst inspecting.
• Record Keeping – I am proficient in many IT packages and use them to access information, analyse data and produce legally compliant enforcement and ensure up-to-date internal records are maintained.
• Relator/Empathy - I am experienced in challenging environments where I need to gather information, find out about people and groups and work hard to put people at ease and enable a fluid balanced discussion with structured next steps.
• Creative Thinking - I am a reflective learner who likes to think around processes and new ways of delivery.
