About

I am an enthusiastic and reliable hospitality professional with over six years’ experience in customer-facing roles, ranging from small cafes to busy pubs and large-scale events. As such I find myself a highly adaptable, resilient and motivated individual, traits that have allowed me to excel in the catering and hospitality sector. My skills include delivering attentive service, working efficiently under pressure, and building positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

I am also a fully trained barista with multiple years of experience supervising and managing staff within the hospitality sector. Moving forward I wish to continue developing my skills and stretching my capabilities in a managerial or supervisory role within this industry.

Experience

Supervisor/ Key-holder - Miro Café

(2024-09 - 2026-09)

During my 2 years as a store supervisor and key holder, I developed a strong foundation in coffee preparation and presentation as well as a rapport with the many regular customers, paying testament to my personable and engaging character. I was also promoted to managerial responsibilities which included overseeing other staff, allocating rotas, and opening and closing the cafe.

Event Management - Appetite4Work

(2022-05 - 2025-09)

Over the past four summers working with Appetite4work, I have helped the smooth running of a variety of different events, both intimate and large scale. Most notably I worked at the Amex Stadium during the Women’s Euros, Eastbourne Tennis Tournament and Goodwood festival which all contributed to the ease and confidence with which I now navigate busy and demanding environments. I’ve also taken on managerial responsibilities whilst at appetite, overseeing and organising staff and liaising with clients.

Throughout all the events I have worked at, I have received consistent positive feedback, and I am grateful for the countless skills event work has equipped me with.

Manager - Sultan Restaurant

(2022-09 - 2023-09)

Whilst managing a high-end Turkish restaurant, I developed my leadership and time management skills extensively. I was involved in coordinating service, supporting the team during busy periods, and ensuring high standards of food presentation and customer care. This experience strengthened my ability to work under pressure, take initiative and contribute to the smooth running of a restaurant.

Barista - Queensbury Coffee House - Queensbury Coffee house Barker & Stonehouse, 184-186 Old Shoreham rd, Hove BN3 7EX

(2021-10 - 2022-12)

During my time at Queensbury, I received training in coffee preparation and latte art, which enabled me to develop and refine my barista skills to a high standard. I gained confidence in operating coffee machines, texturing milk to the appropriate consistency, and consistently delivering high-quality beverages with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Alongside this, I strengthened my customer service skills by engaging with customers in a professional and friendly manner.

My responsibilities also included food preparation, cooking, and service, as well as taking orders and maintaining cleanliness throughout the day. I regularly assisted with end-of-day duties, ensuring the café was clean, organised, and ready for efficient operation the following day.

Front of House - The Ram Inn - The Ram Inn, the st, Firle BN8 6NS

(2019-02 - 2021-10)

Working at the Ram inn pub taught me a great deal about team work and taking initiative and has helped me develop resilience and perseverance when working in a busy and demanding environment. I find I get on extremely well with customers and colleagues and enjoy being part of a large team. I am a confident barista and waitress happy to engage with customers to ensure they enjoy a positive experience at our establishment.

As front of house I perform a wide variety of roles, polishing cutlery, clearing tables, running food, making drinks, taking orders and ensuring the bar is clean and well stocked.

Shop assistant - Lewes Fish Shop

(2019-01 - 2020-02)

Previously I have gained vital experience working at my local fish and chip shop in Lewes. This involved preparing and wrapping food, serving customers in-store and via phone orders, cleaning and making sure the shop was in tip-top condition, as well as locking up at the end of the night. Having worked multiple Saturday evening shifts I find myself a lot more capable working under pressure, efficiently and enthusiastically, always keeping on top of things.

These are skills, I understand, that will prove essential in a great range of different job sectors, especially within the catering industry.

Work experience - BRICCT - Bird Studios, New England Street, Brighton BN1 4GW

For my work experience, I attended BRICCT Performing Arts Company, where I supported a range of activities across both creative and administrative areas. As Social Secretary for the Theatre Society at Leeds University Union, I organised and managed a range of events to engage members and support the society’s activities. Through weekly committee meetings, I collaborated with others to plan productions, manage finances, and contribute to the society’s social media presence, developing strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.

(2025-09 - 2026-03)

Working as a volunteer at Mafwa theatre, a performing arts charity for immigrant women and children, has been a deeply rewarding experience, allowing me to support creativity, confidence, and community building. I actively participated in theatre workshops, helping to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals could express themselves through performance. I also played a key role in facilitating the smooth running of classes, ensuring sessions were organised, engaging, and accessible to everyone involved.

In addition, I worked in the crèche with the children, providing care and encouragement while their parents took part in the workshops. This experience strengthened my communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills, while giving me the opportunity to make a positive impact in a diverse community.

(2023-02 - 2023-03)

In 2023 I had the rewarding opportunity to teach English in Thailand through the Green Lion, an organisation focused on community-based volunteer work. During my time there, I worked closely with local communities, helping to improve educational opportunities for children and adults alike. My role involved teaching English, developing lesson plans, and engaging students in interactive activities to promote learning in a supportive environment.

The experience not only allowed me to contribute to the community’s development but also provided a deeper understanding of Thai culture and the challenges faced by underserved areas.
