Nursery Nurse Assistant at Willow Tree Primary School (2019-06 – 2019-07)

Salon Saturday Girl at Westrow Street Lane (2018-09 – 2020-03)
During my time as a Saturday girl I cleaned round the salon and shampooed clients. I gained a lot of experience on how to speak to clients professionally, booking appointments, using treatments and how to apply color neatly. This was a positive experience for me that made me realize I wanted to be a hairdresser and help me realize the roles and responsibilities I have within the salon. Working within a team helped boost my confidence.
Salon Apprentice at Westrow Street Lane (2020-09 – 2022-07)
Throughout my time at westrow street lane I have cleaned round the salon and shampooed clients, applied toners and treatments, and booked appointments. On the salon floor I blow dried clients' hair and styled. I have learned many different skills during my time at the salon and I am looking forward to progressing even more.
I loved being able to socialize with new people everyday and working within a salon has taught me a lot of life skills. In addition to these skills I was able to meet new people and boost my self confidence. Working at westrow helped my training come along as I was applying colors on the shop floor and really getting the full experience.
Salon Graduate Stylist at Room 97 The Springs (2023-03 – 2023-07)
Since qualifying as a hairdresser and moving to a different salon to become a stylist I have developed my communication and time management skills. I have done this by being able to run a full day of clients and staying on time, which is crucial working within a busy salon with clients back to back. Communicating with clients is essential within the hairdressing career to ensure you know what you are wanting the final results to look like.
To add on, being a stylist has helped me to be more open-minded. I had clients who would come into the salon and want drastic changes and I would have to adapt my skills and knowledge to be able to create certain colors and hairstyles. Which I loved!
Bar Manager at Mix Karaoke (2022-05 – Present)
Whilst working on a bar I’ve learnt to connect with customers under pressure, what I mean by this is being able to conversate but also serving customers at the same time. Making customers feel welcome and comfortable in the five minutes when they order drinks is very important to me as a manager. During the last year of me working on a bar I’ve learnt how to change barrels, cash up and take bookings.
As a manager I have the responsibility to make sure the bar runs smoothly at all times, any issues are taken care of and my staff enjoy themselves even though they are at work.
