Carpenter and maintenance worker

I am an experienced maintenance professional with over 40 years of expertise in carpentry and more than six years of experience working in a care home setting. While maintaining facilities in Cardiff, I carried out carpentry, refurbishment, and general upkeep, all while prioritizing the safety and well-being of residents. I developed a strong understanding of the shared responsibility of safeguarding, ensuring a secure environment, and keeping client safety at the forefront of every task.
During my time with Carron Group in Cardiff, I completed various training courses, including those focused on neurological disorders, health and safety, and evacuation procedures for bedridden clients. I also underwent DBS checks as part of my role, reinforcing my commitment to safeguarding in a care setting.
In more recent years, I relocated to Torbay to be closer to my grandson and took on a role as a handy person. In this position, I was responsible for maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building, performing painting and decorating, organizing meeting rooms, handling light plumbing work, and conducting routine checks on fire equipment and alarms.
If given this opportunity, you would gain a conscientious, hardworking, and reliable worker with a wealth of skills and experience. I work well both independently and as part of a team, always ensuring that facilities are maintained to the highest standard.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills can benefit your team.
I have included a selection of my most recent professional experience, but can provide a full list of employers if needed.
