Working in around Exeter and Mid Devon area. 1st fix comprising of timber frames, stud work, door/window openings, cutting traditional roofs, floor joists/coverings and structural setting out for roof lantern (bracing for trusses). 2nd fix carpentry comprising of swinging doors, fitting ironmongery, bespoke/traditional skirting/architrave, fitting kitchens and also some sympathetic restoration work in a cob cottage. I also completed an asbestos awareness course in 2012.

Prep cut and overlay chipboard flooring, sand down and varnish. Erect stud walls board and tack. Fit liners and swing fire doors, fit ironmongery. Construct sliding doors and walls to client request. Build cupboards and clad with MDF, insert shelves. 2nd fix including picture rail, skirting and architrave.

Site Carpenter at STRATFORD DEVELOPMENTS (2008-05 – 2009-07)

Working as part of a team to erect new build timber frame houses, referring to plans in order to build from foundations up to 3 floors and roofs, erection of exterior and interior walls on all floors to plan. Fixing firebreaks for bricklayers and pickups (internal) for the tackers, dry liners. Also, making pattern forms for bricklayer details (external).

Once complete, 1st fix entails extra stud walls, movement of door openings, fixing of door liners and window boards. After all 1st fix trades, 2nd fix involves swinging doors, installation of door furniture, fixing architrave and skirting, snag jobs and extra amendments.

Apprentice Carpenter at STEVE WILLIS CARPENTRY (2001-01 – 2004-02)

Whilst training I started working as apprentice carpenter with roof specialist Steve Willis Carpentry. I continued with day release at Oaklands College to gain NVQs. Work covered 1st and 2nd fix components of structural work; also assisting in erecting traditional cut roofs and timber frames.
