Michael Wadden

Graduate Geoscientist with an MSc in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen, UK and BSc in Geological Engineering from the University of Mines & Technology (UMaT) – Tarkwa Ghana.

Significant experience as an Exploration and Resource Geologist with a focus on Resource Modelling and Evaluation. Sound working knowledge in Petrel, leapfrog, Mine Sight and Map Info with experience in RC drilling operations, logging and sampling. In addition, I have 3 years working experience as a Marketing Executive, overseeing 10 fuel retail outlets and leading a team of 12 supervisors and about 60 retail attendants.

I am committed to teamwork, continuous learning and development and hold a positive and objective attitude towards work.

I travelled to Aberdeen on a competitive scholarship firstly to gain world-class knowledge and exposure into the Earth science and energy industry as it has always been my passion to work as a Geoscientist and secondly to hone my intercultural and problem-solving skills.

Marketing Executive at Goil Company Limited. – (November 2018- October 2021.)

Zonal Marketing Executive overseeing customer service, sales volume and trends, finance, HSSE etc. of retail outlets within my assigned trade area.

• Managing wet stock inventory.
• Conducting mid-week and monthly throughput analysis
• Prospecting for potential fuel retail sites.
• Ensuring and managing safety and security.
• Monitoring daily sales and cash collection.

Trainee Geologist Abosso Gold Fields Limited, Damang Mine. (August 2015 – August 2016.)

Mine Geology Section.

• Activities that pertain to maximizing ore recovery from the pit and reducing ore dilution.

Data Base Section.

• Acquisition, storage and processing of field data.
• Writing Quality Assurance and Quality Control reports. 

Resource Section.

• Planning drill holes and creating 2D & 3D maps using Mine Sight, Leap Frog and Map Info, respectively.
• Pit mapping of lithological and structural features.
• Interpretation of the various structural blocks to assist in resource evaluation.
• Supervising rig operations, logging drill cuttings and sampling drilled holes.
• Conducting Lab Audits.

• The course Covers the whole of the petroleum value chain from exploration through to decommissioning including carbon capture and storage.
• Extensive exposure to field work both virtual and actual.
