A high occupancy, fast-paced 230 room property with significant sleeper volume. The business mix is variable with a family and tourism-based market on Friday/Saturday and during the school holidays; corporate business weekdays and during term-time; some coach and group business; ad hoc flight delays; plus daily flight crews. The hotel location and unpredictable nature of the business requires the Housekeeping department to operate from 6am-9pm daily due to a requirement for rooms for red-eye guests, crew and day use business.
Regularly exceeding 100% occupancy due to last minute pick-up and day use business, requires both a proactive and reactive approach, whilst being accountable for planning and execution, and maintaining a relationship of trust and teamwork between peers and team members. The ability to manage a Housekeeping team of 35 with adaptability and flexibility combined with a consistent delivery of a luxury 4* standard in this dynamic property is key. I have overseen three hotel bedroom refurbishments, a rebrand and a hotel franchise takeover; being a key stakeholder in implementation, team management and bedroom/product configuration.
