Boohoo Group PLC Junior Java Developer | Part-time September 2024 – August 2025 Based on strong performance during the placement, a part-time role was offered, allowing continued enhancement of core services:

● Implemented custom functionality to modify archive status: Added endpoints for archiving/unarchiving products and dragging functionality, created a new class to handle operations, and implemented unit and acceptance testing.

● Removal of AWS SQS queues: Removed redundant queues, saving resources by eliminating unnecessary ones from CloudFormation creation.

● Repository Upgrades: Migrated applications from Java 11 to Java 17, ensuring compatibility with newer language features and maintaining system stability.

Boohoo Group PLC Industrial Placement | Full-time August 2023 - August 2024 Worked as a Java Developer during a placement, contributing to the development and maintenance of various features in a large-scale application. The key projects involved are listed below:

● Integration Tests: Incorporated Docker with LocalStack to create isolated environments for integration tests, streamlining the staging deployment process by 50%.

● Unit Testing: Developed unit tests for most of the codebase, achieving over 80% of test coverage across nearly 30% of all applications. Implemented frameworks like JUnit and Mockito to improve code reliability and enhance developer productivity.

● Spring JDBC to Spring JPA Migration: Replaced all database interactions using Spring JDBC with Spring JPA, optimizing database performance and increasing the efficiency of services interfacing with the database.
