My name is Natalie Jayne Dawkins, my dob is 16/11/84. My previous job role was working as a bank mental health support worker for Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation trust from 2008-2018. I have completed a higher education access course in Health and Social Care in 2019-2020 when my youngest child began school full time.
This qualification as well as previous experience allowed me to enrol onto the BSc Social work course at Brighton university. I have transferable skills that will be beneficial to both my practice and other colleagues, I can work effectively as part of a team and I am motivated by planning and organisation. I have a non judgemental approach to all individuals and feel a great sense of self satisfaction whenever I am able to facilitate support for those that may be disadvantaged.
I am enthusiastic to always expand my knowledge, and have been on a range of courses to date some of which include domestic abuse training, hearing the voice of the child, and motivational interviewing.
I have a good understanding of the child protection process and relevant legislations. I have worked closely with other professionals and agencies, participated in team meetings, assisted with personal care, recorded confidential information, organised meetings, Built up positive rapports with children and parents early on, Completed direct work with both children and parents, I have a good understanding of IT systems and I am willing to expand my knowledge via any training available- I seem to ‘thrive learning as I go’.
