After 26 years as a teacher in primary education, with a focus on English and maths, I have completed an accredited and endorsed proofreading and copy editing course with the College of Media And Publishing. As someone who is passionate about reading, writing and the correct use of the English language, I am now looking forward to pursuing this as a new career.
I have been teaching children aged 9–11 for the past twenty-six years. For six of those years, I have been a deputy head teacher in a primary school. One of my roles was English subject leader with a focus on raising standards in writing. Now looking for a career change, I am keen to apply my extensive knowledge of the English language to a career as a proofreader.
