Trainee Nursery Nurse / Nursery Nurse - Papillon Nursery

(2012-01 - 2016-12)

I worked in Papillon Nursery as a trainee nursery nurse from 2012-2013 until I qualified and then as a nursery nurse from 2013-2016. During my time here I worked in various rooms working with children from 6 weeks old to 5 years old. During the summer break I helped out with the out of school care working with kids age 5 years up to 12 years old.

• Took on the daily tasks of making sure the children's needs were met, providing the children with a safe and clean environment and providing them with activities that met their needs and the curriculum for excellence.
• Provided the kids with a safe and clean environment and ensuring that all needs were met in out of school care.
• Carried out risk assessments on both indoor and outdoor areas of the nursery before completing any activities.
• Set up the playroom for the day ensuring that the kids had enough activities to keep them busy.
• Provided each child within my group with an online journey where their parents could see what they had been up to at nursery.
• Took part in weekly planning where we discussed children's development to make sure that they were developing as they should and if not finding ways to adjust our plans to make sure they were meeting their targets.
• Encouraged the children to make good choices in both behaviour and healthy eating.
• Encouraged children to take part in activities and was a positive role model for all kids within the nursery and out of school care.

Retail Sales Assistant - Bubbles Childrenswear

(2022-01 - 2025-12)

I worked at Bubbles as a retail sales assistant. I worked with the public on a daily basis, I handled customer complaints and returns always with a positive attitude always maintaining customer satisfaction. I managed stock levels both in-store and online ensuring that I ordered enough stock to maximise sales opportunities.

I was to upload all new stock to the website therefore have good knowledge of IT. I always listened to customer feedback to ensure that we were providing the best service that we could. I can work well as part of a team.

Part of the job was to manage a small group of workers ensuring that deadlines were being met and tasks were being carried out. I can also work well on my own and I am able to use my own initiative when needed to the best of my ability. I can work well under pressure when the shop was busy and I was able to do so with a positive attitude at all times.

I dealt with online orders and emails daily therefore have good knowledge of computer skills.

Volunteer - St.Brendan's Primary School

(2025-12 - 2025-12)

I volunteered to help out in the office of St.Brendan's Primary School to allow staff to attend their Christmas lunch.

• Answered calls and took notes of any important information that was received and had to be passed on.
• Used the door intercom to ensure that the safety of the children within the school was being met.

Volunteer Taekwondo Instructor / Student - UKTC Taekwondo

• Learning taekwondo alongside my two sons.
• Delivering taster sessions of taekwondo to schools within the North and South Lanarkshire areas.
