Senior Shopify & Ecommerce Developer at NJ E-commerce Solutions (Freelance Consultancy) (2020-10 – Present)

Independent Shopify development practice serving D2C and B2B retail brands directly and through agency partnerships; 35+ projects delivered and 160+ ecommerce store rollouts to date.

• Built and customised Shopify 2.0 themes, sections and custom apps from Figma designs for retail brands, using Liquid, JavaScript, TypeScript and React, to give merchandising teams self-serve control of landing pages and PDPs. This reduced developer dependency for content changes and sped up campaign launches.
• Designed and implemented integrations between Shopify and CRM, OMS, ERP, shipping and marketing systems (Klaviyo, ShipStation, Twilio, payment gateways) using Admin API, Storefront API (GraphQL/REST) and webhooks, to keep orders, inventory and customer data in sync across platforms.
• Led performance optimisation and CRO work across client storefronts, refactoring JavaScript, CSS and Liquid to improve Core Web Vitals. This delivered PageSpeed improvements of 25–40 points, directly supporting conversion rate gains on mobile.
• Led Magento-to-Shopify Plus migrations end to end (data mapping, theme rebuild, integration rework, cutover planning), enabling brands to re-platform with no loss of SEO ranking or order history.
• Diagnosed and resolved production issues on live Shopify Plus stores, including a combined-listing cart bug on a high-volume US retail store, restoring correct checkout behaviour without theme downtime.
• Highlights: Portfolio includes mainelobsternow.com, iliabeauty.com and plumberscrib.com.

Technical Operations Engineer (part-time, alongside consultancy) at Next Day Broadband (2026-01 – Present)

UK broadband startup offering next-day connectivity via a subscription model.

• Designed and built the order-to-fulfilment automation pipeline (Subbly → Zapier Tables → Klaviyo / Twilio / ShipStation), to remove manual order processing. This enabled the team to scale order volume without additional operations headcount.
• Own ongoing technical operations including CRM flows, SMS/email notifications and shipping automation, ensuring reliable customer communications across the order lifecycle.

Magento Developer at Freelance Magento Developer (2013-01 – 2020-12)

Independent Magento development for ecommerce merchants and agencies.

• Built and maintained Magento 1.x/2.x stores, custom modules and theme work for retail clients, forming the platform and integration foundation later applied to Shopify Plus builds.
• Delivered API integrations with payment, shipping and ERP systems, developing the systems-integration expertise now central to Shopify work.
• Managed store performance, upgrades and third-party extension conflicts across multiple concurrent client Magento stores, ensuring stable, secure storefronts.
