Nowroz Ali

A highly motivated and result-oriented professional with more than seven years of work experience in social/developmental Program Design, Implementation, Research, and Monitoring & Evaluation. Experience, working with different organizations ranging from research consulting firms to well-reputed non-governmental organizations, he has acquired extensive experience and skills in developing research and M&E Tools, designing M&E and Research frameworks, and creating M&E plans for development/social sector projects and programs. During his professional carrier, he has been part of the different baseline, midline, endline and Impact studies.

Over the span of his professional journey, he has developed skills in coordination with government organizations and acquired experience in advocacy and liaising. Moreover, he has hands-on experience in designing and implementing large-scale & Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey. He also has expertise in developing and managing large-scale databases and data analysis using MS Excel. further being graduate of DRR, he has worked on different DDR &GLOF related projects and had delivered trainings and assessment.

In his professional journey, he has worked closely with donor agencies including USAID, UNICEF, AKF, UNDP, NUESCO and National Vocational and Technical Training Commission NAVTTC. Geographically he has worked in the major cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Peshawar, and Gilgit. This geographically diverse experience has given him an opportunity to work with people of different ethnic origins, cultural backgrounds, religions, and sects in both urban and rural settings in Pakistan.

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer - Hashoo foundation (HF) - Chitral

Currently, I am working with Hashoo foundation in its Humanitarian Programs, Environmental Program, Education Program and Training Programs which aims to enable and empower communities to be independent by facilitating equitable access to opportunities, having the following responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Log frame, M&E Framework, and performance monitoring plan for the program.
• Develop data collection tools and collecting relevant data to measure achievements against the performance indicators.
• Monitor project activities, outputs, and progress toward anticipated results.
• Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans aligning them with program budgets.
• Keep updating the program's Work Plan in accordance with project activities and timeframe.
• Design and conduct baseline and Mid-line Surveys.
• Design and conduct impact studies.
• Assist project management in monitoring and evaluating processes, supporting the teams/consultants in periodic assessments, studies, etc.
• Clean, sort, categorize, organize, analyze, and summarize findings of quantitative and/or qualitative data.
• Support in preparing and implementing baseline studies, reviews, and evaluations.
• Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports depending on programs/Projects requirements.
• Ensure lessons are learned as part of quarterly planning and review exercises, and end-of-project review workshops and help inform and improve the program, design, and implementation.
• Disseminate evaluation findings and projecting results to stakeholders.
• Developing tools and conducting projects close out.
• Assisting proposal development team in developing different proposals.

Community Mobilizer - Hashoo foundation (HF) - Chitral

I worked in with Hashoo foundation Chitral in the UNDP funded project (which was aimed to reduce disaster risk reduction in Chitral through involvement. My specific responsibilities included but were not limited to:

• Arrangement of Community-level meetings and events.
• Mobilization of Communities in the project target areas.
• Field activities reporting and presentation.
• Arrangement of community village level of training on GLOF.
• Sessions on GLOF with community and its prevention measures.
• Meeting with community and reporting of Indigenous knowledge on Glaciers and GLOF.
• Recordkeeping, filing, and documentation of activities.
• Conducted Hazard Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment HVCA at UC level.
• Conducted Multi hazard and Vulnerability Assessment MHVRA at UC level.
• Conducted Hazard Mapping in Village and UC level.
• Conducted Vulnerability and capacity assessment.
• Identification and development of case studies.
• Prepared progress presentation to donor on monthly basis.

Internship - Hashoo foundation (HF) - Chitral

I worked with Hashoo foundation Chitral as an internee in its MEAL department Chitral. My specific responsibilities included but were not limited to:

• To assist MEAL officer in preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Punched and Maintained data of beneficiaries.
• Data analysis and generated a report under the supervision of MEAL Officer.
• Conducted M&E field visits along with MEAL Officer and prepared filed visit reports.
• Updated and verified beneficiaries' data in Management Information System MIS.
• Assisted in developing study tools.
• Conducted evaluation of its center and conducted trend analysis of education program beneficiaries.
• Collected data from beneficiaries and maintained it in data system.
