A curious and assertive law major with summer experiences in compliance and legal who is looking for new opportunities in a fast-paced environment. Previous responsibilities include implementing decisions of the Boards, looking into the policies and maintaining compliance within the company, drafting documents for court hearings, and dealing with clients in areas of personal injury and probate.
In my former role as a legal intern for Piefke Trading last year, I was assigned to assist the company in its contractual duties, giving advice on areas of Commercial Law, Intellectual Property as well as Competition Law. Whilst employed there, I have succeeded in negotiating with the Ministry of Education of Malaysia about an issue arising from the contractual agreement. I was also tasked with drafting contracts for their clients as well.
Besides that, during my time at UEM Group in 2020, I was not only able to assist the company in complying with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, but also to be well versed with the Companies Act in order to assist in advising the Board of Directors with their decisions. The company was in the midst of closing down hundreds of its subsidiaries all over the world and I have succeeded in aiding them with this.
Furthermore, in S.G. Lingam, my primary role was to prepare various documents for ligitation but also write opinion reports for the clients.
Recently I completed my Masters in International Commercial and Finance Law with the University of Strathclyde. My course involves various modules such as e-commerce, international commercial law as well as financial crimes, and sanctions. I am awaiting the results of my dissertation but the current average grades would be that of second class upper.
I have also completed my bachelor of laws from the University of London previously.
