I am a driven final year mathematics student at the University of Edinburgh, on track to achieve a high first class degree. I have a great interest in pursuing opportunities in the world of investment management/ research whether that be an internship or a graduate role. I recently completed an internship at Deloitte which highlighted a strong desire to work in a dynamic and challenging environment where I can best employ my problem solving skills.
I have worked a number of jobs across retail, hospitality and the food service industries which have engendered a love of working as part of a team and forced me to develop strong time-keeping skills and the ability to work under a varied and at times pressing workload. In the summer of 2024 I completed a 12 week internship in the Corporate Tax with Deloitte in their Belfast Office which was highly engaging and allowed me to develop a number of skills including, but not limited to, learning how to read and interpret financial statements and work as part of a team to pitch ideas to clients.
I am in the final year of a mathematics degree at the University of Edinburgh. I am predicted to achieve a high first class degree, after having taking modules from a broad range of mathematical disciplines. In my third and fourth years of study I have primarily focused on statistical studies which have allowed me to develop an advanced ability to implement statistical models and interpret data, including being proficient in the language R.
I also have taken several modules in mathematical finance which have been crucial in laying a solid groundwork of knowledge in financial concepts.
