I am a professional, conscientious and a highly-organised person who has a passion for delivering a high level of customer service and administrative solutions within a business.
I have approximately three years’ experience working for the NHS as a Personal / Executive Assistant, and feel that I have transferable skills from my employment career, which would make me a very suitable candidate for the position. I have previously worked as an Office Manager at Flogas Britain, a Project Management Team Leader for the Royal College of Physicians, as Cabin Crew for British Airways and as a HR Co-ordinator for a short stint. I am a positive person who works very well under pressure and can plan, multi-task and organise my work in accordance with strict timescales. By nature I am a self-motivated and driven individual.
I have previous experience of working as a Personal / Executive Assistant for various NHS Trusts across the North West; including Knowsley CCG, the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Liverpool Health Partnership and Warrington Hospital. I organised international travel arrangements, booked meetings and conferences, and undertook complex diary management. In addition, I took accurate minutes at Board level along with preparing and distributing Agendas and Board packs in a timely manner. Whilst working in these positions, it was important that I was able to anticipate the needs of the person that I was a Personal / Executive Assistant to, and proactively address and or resolve them. Whilst working at Knowsley CCG, as and when required I provided reception cover, which involved meeting and greeting visitors with a warm welcome upon arrival to the site. In addition, I answering and dealt with / redirected calls and post within the CCG.
In my recent HR role at Yokogawa, I was responsible for hiring and off-hiring candidates for the National Gas Transmission project. This entailed liaising with employment agencies to co-ordinate and conduct first and second stage interviews along with providing feedback. Furthermore, I delivered a full company induction for new starters in-person, liaised with an independent company called Sterling regarding employee background checks and monitored legislation such as if the contractor was inside or outside IR35.
At Flogas Britain in Knowsley, I served as the Office Manager for an office of over 20 members of staff. I handled incoming communication, raised purchase orders in a timely manner, and recorded accurate minutes at meetings. I liaised with external suppliers regarding delivery times of goods and the payroll team regarding any discrepancies on invoices received. In addition, I organised travel and accommodation arrangements on a weekly basis for engineers who attended depot sites countrywide.
I think I would be a very suitable candidate for this role as I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow me to collaborate effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. Whilst working as an Executive Assistant for the NHS, due to the nature of the busy role, I was required to prioritise my workload and have good attention to detail when recording minutes for Board Meetings along with adhering to confidentiality at all times. I am punctual, trustworthy, reliable and dedicated to helping to find the best solution to administrative problems. My strong IT skills allow me to learn new software platforms quickly. Whilst working in Procurement at the North West Ambulance Service, I successfully trained 60 medical staff to use the Oracle System.
Aside from work, I am a sociable and active person who really enjoys yoga, skiing, swimming and travelling. In 2014, I travelled through Asia and the East Coast of Australia before living in Sydney for two years. Whilst living in Sydney, I worked as a Senior Recruitment Consultant for Michael Page. Upon returning to the UK, I still had a passion to travel and embarked upon the position of Cabin Crew for British Airways.
I feel that my long and short-term contract roles have given me the opportunity to develop strong transferable skills along with knowing where my weaknesses, strengths and passions lie within a work capacity. I do thoroughly enjoy working in an Personal / Executive Assistant role and I am in a position in my life where I would really like to embark upon a permanent position too.
Thank you for your consideration.
