I am a confident QHSE and technical construction professional with extensive experience across various industry sectors including the working at height industry. I have had major success and enjoyment in leading teams within turnarounds of projects especially in high profile sites. The leadership and management skills I have gained within my career has seen me work in several areas of the business improving the organisational teams in Managers/Supervisors, Contracts, Sales and Office Staff.
My skills are underpinned not only by my profound understanding of the construction industry, its techniques, its people and its needs, but also by my insight, ingenuity and unparalleled problem-solving abilities in managing the risks, threats and opportunities that are the keys to success in any business.
I am self motivated with the desire to keep my continual professional development up to date leading me to seek out opportunities for self-improvement; cultivating a desire to facilitate the same opportunities for others. This attitude forms the training services I now provide using consummate motivational and communication skills to ensure that all learners’ development needs are met and surpassed, up to assessment. I have a great understanding of people and for this reason Disclosure Scotland have given me the accreditation to counter sign all CBR.
I work and lead the teams within the business to ensure compliance to the framework standards.
My background provides me with an unmatched understanding of the industry’s training requirements and allows me to use these skills in other industry sectors. My ‘muddy boot’ experience has been gathered throughout my 34 years within the industry working at a Senior Management level, influencing and inputting to Policy and procedures that cascade the culture of the company. I have achieved a range of accreditations including Chartered level, Fellowship level and Group VQ Assessor with PTSG.
The difference and uniqueness of my attributes is that I still work ‘hands on’ developing people in assessing their Vocational Qualifications for NSAC and Site Safety Plus and the National Construction College. I will advise and consult with companies on their procedures and Policies, I advise on business issues and ensure a personal service.
I have worked in various industry sectors through my consultancy and have a vast experience in delivering CPP/PCI under the CDM Regulations.
