I work at the intersection of science and IT by helping the world's leading scientists to integrate the latest IT technology to facilitate their research activities.
For the last eight years, I have worked at one of the world's leading bioinformatics service organisations - EMBL-EBI in Cambridge, UK. My work has involved developing cutting edge image analysis tools to enable biologists to work with cryo-electron microscopy data through analysis, archival and dissemination of their data. I have extensive experience designing, engineering, developing, deploying and supporting IT infrastructure and software tools.
Previously, I worked with various forms of genomic data (translatomic, genomic, transcriptomic) through various modalities (HTS, microarray) by applying machine learning technologies. I have strong data science skills based on my fundamental training in electrical and electronic engineering and mathematics.
I completed a doctorate in computational biology in 2014 prior to which I graduated with a master's level postgraduate diploma in mathematical sciences in 2010. In 2006, I completed my undergraduate degree in electrical and electronic engineering. I also hold professional certifications in using Google Cloud Platform (Associate Cloud Engineer) as well as a Professional Scrum Master.
