I am a qualified native English Language Teacher, with a broad experience of teaching learners from a range of different cultural and demographic backgrounds. I consider myself to be an organised and passionate teacher who enjoys exploring the social, emotional and psychological aspects of teaching.
My academic pursuits have garnered me with an extensive knowledge of English Language systems and how to communicate these effectively by applying a variety of teaching approaches. Through my previous teaching positions, I have demonstrated an ability to adapt to different teaching settings while always placing the priority on my learners needs
Having achieved a Masters in TESOL and Applied Linguistics in 2019, I am now looking for a teaching position which allows me to make effective use of progressive teaching methodologies. I favour an enquiry based, student centred teaching approach where possible. I am confident in my ability to engage my learners in meaningful tasks which produce the correct levels of Language input and output, enabling them to make continual progress.
I have in-depth knowledge of teaching reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and have demonstrated an ability to create learning objectives to support student’s achievement in relation International Language Assessments. I have proven success implementing these skills in the settings of Kindergarten, Primary Schools and University.
MY experience during my MSc in TESOL and Applied Linguistics from The University of Stirling presented the opportunity to explore language in more depth and understand many of the salient features that are often difficult for international students to recognise and understand. Being a representative on the majority of courses gave me practical experience working with tutors to support these difficulties and find practical solutions.
