Head of Protection - Chief Inspector at Thames Valley Police (2015-01 – 2020-01)
As the Head of Protection at Thames Valley Police, I managed a team of 130 officers. I was responsible for the security of the royal family and government-protected individuals across the TVP area. I oversaw security for a range of major international events, ensuring the safety of designated individuals.
I also coordinated close protection and site security, including at royal residences and crowded events—delivering specialist firearms command-level training and serving as a command assessor and mentor.
Counter Terrorism Security Coordinator (CT SecCo) - Chief Inspector at Thames Valley Police (2014-01 – 2020-01)
Alongside my primary role, I served within a highly trained team of senior officers with counter-terrorism expertise. I provided expert advice on protective security and coordinated assets for major national and international sporting events, state events, and crowded public spaces. Using modern physical security methods, I assessed threats and developed and implemented effective, often complex, security plans.
I led Host City and Venue Security for the Rugby World Cup 2015. Working closely with the Centre for Protection of National Infrastructure and contractors, I coordinated and managed a joint police and private-sector project to deliver integrated HVM crowded-space protective security measures in an iconic public environment.
Tactical Firearms Cadre - Chief Inspector at Thames Valley Police (2013-01 – 2020-01)
As a specialist counter-terrorism (CT) commander with the highest accreditation level, I led high-threat CT operations, major international events, and serious crime operations. I delivered integrated risk management, enabling security excellence across numerous international operations. This included coordinating multi-agency planning and overseeing all tactical aspects for The Royal Wedding 2018, which was attended by 120,000, as well as for visits by President Trump and the D-Day 75 International Event.
Operational Policing - Inspector at Thames Valley Police (2009-01 – 2013-01)
As a senior leader, I led multi-agency teams and oversaw the delivery of all policing services in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. In 2012, I worked extensively on the planning, testing, and venue command for the London Olympic Torch Relay, as well as the Olympics and Paralympics, at Eton Dorney. I managed sensitive crime and public safety incidents with discretion, minimising media or public intrusion, while meeting complex logistical and operational demands.

I served as the head of this department, responsible for all aspects of public order direction, development, policy, training, and operational support. I developed national and force capability and capacity in public order management.
