Quality Engineer at AFL Telecommunications Ltd (2021-11 – 2025-07)

All activities related to the quality of fiber optic cable production. Ability to perform quality control of fiber optic cable production at each stage of production using OTDR. Final quality control of fibre optic cables, live final control with clients on the other places in the UK and USA on Teams – so called: FAT/final – final: Factory Acceptance Testing. Operation during the checking process on AFL and Oracle ERP software.

• Set up, operated, and monitored extrusion lines for the manufacture of fibre optic buffer tubes, loose tubes, and cable jackets, ensuring compliance with production targets and quality specifications
• Optimise machine parameters, including temperature, speed, and pressure, to maintain stable output, minimise waste, and improve process efficiency
• Performed dimensional inspections of extruded products using callipers and microscopes to verify accuracy against specification requirements
• Conducted in-process quality checks and maintained detailed production records (setup, runtime, material usage, scrap, and rework) using Oracle ERP, ensuring full traceability
• Diagnosed and resolved machine and process faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and tooling changes to reduce downtime and maintain equipment reliability
