Chef Ravi Rao, a Hotel Management graduate, graduated from Institute of Hotel Management, India in the year 1999. Ravi Rao started his carrier in Culinary Industry as Kitchen Operations Trainee at Taj Group of Hotels, which is the most prestigious chain of luxury and business class hotels in India. After 3-years of rigorous training in different cuisines, he was promoted as Sous Chef in the year 2002.
Then he moved to UK to explore the Indian cuisine in western trend. He brought the authenticity of Indian cuisine which was very rare in the city. Got recognition for serving the excellent food quality and establishing modern trends in Indian cuisine, winning Best Indian Restaurant award at Cobra Good Food Awards, UK.
In 2004, Ravi joined Rasoi by Vineet Bhatia in London as Sous Chef. The restaurant was awarded 3AA Rossette in 2005 and 1-Michelin Star in 2006.
Ravi participated in Roux Scholarship, a prestigious chef competition in UK, awarded first runner up in2005.
Later he excelled as Head Chef, opening new restaurants in different locations within UK, getting big appreciation and recognition by leading news papers and magazines. He was involved doing Live Cookery Shows at Asian Life Style Show, London in front of 500 audiences and Live Cookery Program on BBC Nottingham.
In 2010, Chef Ravi stretched his arms and moved to Dubai. He joined Movenpick Hotel, Ibn Battuta Gate, Dubai, a 5-Star Luxury hotel as Chef-de-cuisine. He excelled winning BBC Good Food Award for Best Indian Restaurant in Middle East in 2013.
He was also involved organizing Charity Dinners to support Cancer Research Institute UK and Dubai Cares in UAE.
Now Chef Ravi has indulged himself creating Raas Leela restaurant in Stafford, Punjabi Saga restaurant in Stoke-on-trent and Lazzeez restaurant in Southampton.
