I’m after my first proper job, I currently work with my dad, he owns his own kitchen and bathroom installation company but he can’t give me regular work so I’m after employment elsewher. I’m in lawford so easy access to and I can start asap if you cons taken me on.

My name is Rhys Drake , I’m 18 years old and currently looking for my first proper job after the last few years working part time with my dad.

I’m a hands on learner and enjoy construction or mechanics based roles but always happy to learn new things.

I currently don’t drive but that’s one of my aims as soon as I’m earning a wage, so for now I pushbike everywhere and I’m fit and able to bike miles at a time so travel in a 10 mile radius is fine with me.

My role was to keep the work environment clear and tidy to prevent the risk of accidents.

• Shadowing of different team members to help give me an insight in the day-to-day running in the company and what’s expected of myself
• Visiting whole sales to purchase materials for jobs

• Attending meetings or pricing jobs for private clients
• Learn the basic skills of using power tools safely and correctly

I currently work with my dad on a part time basis. He is in the building trade and I’ve learnt a lot from him regarding construction, for example, measureing of materials, using power tools and manual tools correctly and wall and floor tiling,

He has taught me good time management and how to deal with customers in a professional way, building good relationships and respect with them.

But now I’m ready to have my first proper job out in the community to learn what its like to work away from the family business.

Education

I attended Manningtree high school.

No qualifications.

I’m a quick practical learner, I learn better by doing things hands on than I do written.

I can use a computer well when needed but prefer to physically be doing something
