I am am a qualified independent Social Work Practitioner and I have been practising for 24years. I am looking for additional work that I can do during the weekends/evenings. I am not sure if I need the training to become one through Family Rights Group.
However, if that is a prerequisite I will oblige, although I have transferable skills from my practice as an experienced Social Worker of working closely with families around negotiating such, drafting agreements/plans to meet their needs without compromising the safety of others and ensuring the goal/objectives are well understood and family led. For example I am used to preparing safety plans, core group meetings/child in need plans, working agreements etc subject to reviews.
I hold a Diploma In Social Work and a degree in Social Science from University of East Anglia Norwich in 2000. Most of my experience is with children and families and y main focus was on child protection. I have worked with families deferring religious/racial backgrounds. I am aware that certain group of people are discriminated against due to their racial background, religion, sexuality, disability and culture and my role was mainly undertaking assessments and to provide a seamless service.
My roles also involved representing the wishes and views of families and also empowering them and telling them what services are available in their areas and how to access such services. In other to discharge my duties effectively To do my work effectively I had developed good listening skills, good verbal and communication skills, empathy, being non-judgemental and accepting people as they are (unconditional positive regard).
I have also worked in managerial roles within social care as well as in CAFCASS as a Family Court Adviser and acting Service manager.
My most relevant education is my Social Work Qualification which is already summarised above.
