2017-2018 Tanzania Project
During 6th form we undertook a large amount of fundraising activities and events ,in and out of our school, for a trip to develop and refurbish Ghendi Primary School in Tanzania.
Work experience for a week with Park Square Barristers following a high profile sexual assault case. We learned a lot about the behind the scenes of a trial, how to effectively cross examine, and how to use evidence effectively.
December 2020- April 2021 Legal Assistant- Law and Lawyers
Worked as a legal assistant in the conveyancing department. This opportunity allowed me to learn the basics of the conveyancing process, the detail required when carrying out due-diligence, and the time pressures lawyers face (especially on completion day!).
January-May 2022 Law Clinic
Pro Bono experience within its family law division helping give free legal advice for low income families with issues which required court orders. This helped me understand how to apply facts to real life issues, conduct accurate research based on those facts and carry out client interviews.
May-July 2022 Door-to-door Fundraiser
Worked with the homelessness charity Shelter. It gave me a real insight as to how to best deal with potential members some who were very receptive to my presence and others who weren’t as much.
