In this fast paced industry, I built up my confidence very quickly. I enjoyed the first few months as a barista, developing a good understanding of the job independently. However, as soon as I became of age I was promoted to supervisor.
I was quickly trusted with the responsibilities of opening and closing the shop on my own, being left in charge of the store and training new employees and improving overall team performance. I gained knowledge about food safety practices, including proper handling, storage and sanitation procedures.

Within this job, I gained a great attention to detail. I learned to pay close attention to the specific needs of each dog. It improved my ability to manage time effectively, balancing multiple grooming appointments while maintaining quality service.
As well as grooming, I gained valuable experience in customer service and teamwork. I welcomed clients, handled bookings, answered the phone and supported pet owners with clear information. This role strengthened my reliability, ability to multitask and great confidence.
Additionally, it was very physically demanding, requiring stamina while handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments.
Zippys Playworld (2021-06 – 2023-08)
I developed expertise in supervising and engaging children in a safe and fun environment within the play area. It enhanced my ability to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe play environment for children. While being in the cafe I grasped the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, such as serving customers, collecting dishes and promptly cleaning them, returning them back to the cafe. I would also sufficiently keep the floor clean so it was presentable for customers coming in.
