Two years ago I relocated from County Wicklow and am now living in Bangor County Down.
I have over 23 years’ experience in working with the public both as a school secretary, arts & crafts teacher, and experienced office administrator. Prior to this I worked for an Airline and a Tour Operator.
Most recently I worked as an office clerk for the Adoption & Foster Care department in Bangor Community Hospital and prior to this as a medical receptionist both in Bangor and in Holywood for a GP clinic.
I have over 20 years’ experience as school administrator in a primary school in the Republic of Ireland. I also curated exhibitions & taught art to adults with learning difficulties in a Community Arts Centre as well as teaching art through drama and storytelling.
When it comes to taking up new skills, I am a very adaptive learner and can pay particular attention to detail. I enjoy working as part of a vibrant team.
I was school secretary in the Bray School Project National School for over 20 years. BSP is one of the original Educate Together Primary Schools in the Republic of Ireland. My role included the following...
P.A. to the school Principal. Secretary to 14 members of staff. First point of contact with parents and anyone visiting the school. Website designer for the school. Liaising with the Department of Educations & Science regarding all pupils files, test results, admissions, attendance etc.
Typing all letters (hard copy then electronic) of communication between the staff and the parents. Arranging all school trips. Organising extra-curricular activities each term Facilitating and co-ordinating activities in the school for parents like New Parents Day, Open Day, Art Day, The Christmas Fair, International Food Festival, Chinese New Year and arranging activities for various religious events as part of the curriculum as the school is an Educate Together school (Multi and Non denominational)
