EDGE Network Design Engineer – VMO2

Upon completion of my apprenticeship my duties carried on as normal, with a higher responsibility on communication with the build engineers and other departments. My primary focus currently is around mass deployment of XGS PON and finding where the design and build process can be condensed and made more efficient.

Apprentice EDGE Network Design Engineer – VMO2

In this role I worked as part of a large team that managed the design and build work of VMO2s home network connectivity. At the beginning of my time with VMO2 I was primarily shadowing other design engineers to get a feel for how the work was done, and then shortly after progressed into performing my role solo. I was primarily responsible for creating the documents that indicated the changes to be made by the build engineer on site and ordering the kit required for the build.

I managed many different types of design such as node re-segmentation, node commissioning, and VMO2s rollout of XGS PON across the South West and Wales.
