A-Level student and aspiring journalist

Hello to whoever may be reading this. My name is Sam McShane and I'm an 18 year-old A-Level student at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys. I study English Literature, Media and History as I feel these subjects would best suit me on my path to becoming a journalist. I'm sure many people who write sections about themselves say the same repetitive things so hopefully I can catch your attention slightly more! Whilst I am still young, I am educated, intelligent and resourceful as whilst school has taught me many things, my own studying and research away from the classroom into business, psychology and attempting to learn Spanish are characteristics which I feel separate me from most others. In other words, I do more than what is expected, not just because it gives me pride and an edge over others, but because I have an unrivalled passion and desire to learn and be the best and most productive version of myself. However, whilst that may seem self-centred, I fully believe that to achieve anything in any working environment (or in life) on a significant scale, teamwork must be at the epicentre of all productivity. I feel that my leadership has evolved over the years as I have grown in confidence and maturity. I have done this through organising group speeches and workshops within school to improve mindset and motivation along with growing in skill as an orator within any social environment. Whilst I feel I am a leader, I will never feel my opinion and ideas are above anyone else's as teamwork revolves around the motives of a team and not one person. My work experience at EVCOM allowed me to publish articles on their website at the age of 17 as they felt my work was up to standard to be put out on a public website. Work experience allowed for me to gain an understanding of the demands and feelings within a professional working environment which I carry with me with whatever I do. Lastly, I participate in sport playing football and competing in athletics, both of which grant me with grit and resilience which can correlate to the same characteristics which I display in each challenge with which I face in any environment. So that's just a bit about me, there's much more to tell but I hope that this has given you an idea of the sort of person that I am and hopefully you can see what qualities I can bring to the table! Thank you very much for reading and have a great day.
I have worked at EVCOM for two weeks for work experience along with another weeks experience at the Kent Messenger newspaper. I have also worked at NEXT and House of Fraser just to keep the money coming in!
As previously mentioned, I am currently doing A-Levels at Wilmington Grammar in Media, English Literature and History.
