Samantha Maurice

I am a mother to 6 wonderful children. Since having my middle son, I have picked up on characteristics that are far different from them of my other children. His behaviour can be challenging but also very rewarding, he has taught me so much about not only myself but how to be the best parent I can be when things do not fall into a stereotypical child.

He is on the path for diagnosis, and is this time I have completed courses with the skills network, the first being children and young people's mental health and also supporting children with SEN and Disability. I am currently enquiring about more and due to start my support and learning in an education setting in January, which is like a TA course but designed around children with additional needs. I am working really hard to achieve my goals to enable and empower children who may struggle.

I do not have professional experience within a childcare setting but I do have 21 years of experience with my own children, and also these courses which I have and are due to complete

My most recent qualification was the skills network level 2 children with SEN and Disability. I am looking into doing the autism course while waiting for my next course to start
