People-focused operational leader with more than 20 years' experience and a career built through practical work, progression and responsibility. I have led seven fresh-food departments and more than 30 colleagues at Tesco Extra, managed a busy McColl's convenience store with an integrated Post Office, and developed broad experience across warehousing, stock, service, compliance and commercial operations. I lead by example, take pride in high standards and am at my best when I can support and develop people, solve problems and take ownership of getting things done.

In 2023, I deliberately moved into a local, flexible role so I could support close family through a difficult period. Those circumstances are now resolved, and I am ready to return my full focus to career development, new challenges and greater responsibility.

General Assistant - Frozen at Morrisons (2023-10 – Present)

• Support a high-volume early-morning frozen operation through replenishment, stock rotation, pallet breakdown and manual handling while maintaining availability, safety and department standards.

Fresh Manager at Tesco Extra (2016-04 – 2023-10)

• Led seven fresh-food departments and more than 30 colleagues across a busy Tesco Extra, including Bakery, Bread & Cake, Produce, Dairy, Meat, Horticulture and Frozen, with accountability for recruitment, rotas, training, performance and colleague development.
• Managed availability, stock, waste, merchandising and sales performance while maintaining food safety, security and compliance requirements.
• Led visibly from the shop floor, resolving operational issues, supporting colleagues and maintaining standards through busy and demanding trading periods.

Branch Manager at Martin McColl's (2012-02 – 2016-04)

• Held full responsibility for a busy convenience store and integrated Post Office, covering people, sales, stock, cash, security, customer service and day-to-day operations.
• Recruited, trained and developed colleagues; produced rotas; managed performance and accountability; and maintained strong audit, cash-control and compliance standards.
• Improved sales and profitability during the four-year appointment while maintaining service, Post Office, licensing, Trading Standards and Environmental Health requirements.

Merchandise Manager at Wickes Building Supplies (2001 – 2012)

Progressed from a part-time Sales Assistant through stock, warehouse, customer service and supervisory positions to Merchandise Manager.

• Roles included Warehouse Controller, Stock Administrator, Customer Service Supervisor, Merchandise Supervisor, Banking Clerk, Kitchen & Bathroom Assistant and FLT Driver.
• Built broad operational experience covering stock accuracy, availability, replenishment, merchandising, promotions, warehouse organisation, deliveries, banking and customer service.
• Supervised and developed colleagues and gained practical yard experience, including previous training to shunt large articulated vehicles within a closed compound.
