I am a 3rd year student studying Pharmacy (MPharm) at the University of Birmingham as I intend to qualify and work as a pharmacist in future. Currently, I am very much focused on working in customer service environment as I enjoy helping and interacting with people and as such, I am also a confident communicator and work well in teams. I have tailored much of my extra curricular opportunities to gain experience and to develop in this direction.
During my time so far at university I have had multiple community and hospital placements which typically last a week which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, I have work experience where I worked on Saturdays at a local pharmacy where I work in the dispensary alongside pharmacists and dispensers to further prepare me for a role in customer service. As such I am currently looking for a role as a part time role where I can have additional learning of interacting with customers and team members so that I can further build on gaining professional experience.
Intern in the Dispensary - Lye Pharmacy 365 - 37 High St, Lye, Stourbridge DY9 8LF
(2025-01 - 2025-05)
I worked in the dispensary at the pharmacy on Saturdays supporting the Pharmacists and Dispensers in receiving prescriptions, dispensing prescriptions (checked by the Pharmacist), supporting customers in their queries as well as over the counter medicines and other items that are sold in the shop element of the pharmacy. I also help the pharmacist on patient care in a support and observational role. I really enjoy this role as I am building my experience on what it means to work to support people in a pharmacy and gaining vital understanding on what it means to be in a customer service and retail environment.
