Hello. My name is Sian, and I currently hold the position of Editorial Director at FoodBev, a media platform dedicated to sharing global food and beverage news with a vast readership globally.
Over the past 3+ years, I have had the privilege of leading an enthusiastic team of news reporters, editors and freelancers at FoodBev. My leadership has resulted in successfully managing four distinct titles, each boasting a dedicated website, magazine and newsletter.
Furthermore, under my guidance, two new titles were successfully launched -- a testament to my commitment to the company's growth and success. Recognising my contributions, I was promoted from Senior Editor to Editorial Director within just two years of joining the company, a milestone that showcases my dedication and passion for driving positive outcomes.
My experience at FoodBev has granted me invaluable insights into various sectors of the food and beverage industry, ranging from cell-based and plant-based foods to the coffee and tea industries, as well as dairy, technology and sustainability.
My adaptability and versatility in writing style and voice have been pivotal in creating engaging and informative content across diverse domains, including science and technology, health and wellbeing, food and furniture, sustainability and ski chalets, and beyond.
In my previous role as Head of Content for a digital marketing agency in the southwest, I honed my ability to create content with a keen focus on SEO and engagement. From crafting captivating headers and incorporating strategic keywords to integrating multimedia elements such as images, video and audio, I have consistently driven traffic and increased audience engagement. Currently, I oversee multiple websites that demand SEO optimisation, a task I aim to achieve by staying attuned to industry trends and crafting compelling, original content that meets the highest standards.
I hold a first-class master's degree in journalism, a testament to my passion for multimedia content creation and my thorough understanding of media law, including issues related to libel and copyright infringement. Throughout my academic journey, I had the privilege of working alongside renowned media platforms, such as BBC, Immediate Media, and local news outlet Bristol Post, which provided me with invaluable experiences that shaped my career as a journalist.
