I was a Distribution Shift Leader for over six years, and an area stock movement operative for thirteen years, working for the largest paint manufacturers within various fields all across the world, including the automotive industry. Over my nineteen-year career I have built up a wealth of knowledge in people skills as well as training and development. My roles throughout this period have enabled me to assist and deliver where needed to allow staff to unlock their full potential, benefiting both themselves and the business, which has left me privileged enough to witness individuals progress in their own careers.
I have a keen eye for detail and am able to work by myself or as part of a team, and I have a can-do approach and attitude towards all things in work and home life.
Distribution Shift Leader at PPG Architectural Coatings EMEA (2020-01 – Present)
Ensured smooth operation of day-to-day activities including: loading/unloading of vehicles, stock picking, active FLT work and stock movement between three warehouses, while maintaining and promoting health and safety all in a timely manner. During this role I was responsible for a team of over twenty individuals however, these duties could often extend to a wider team of over eighty individuals depending on the workday. I worked closely with other shift leaders on a daily basis to make sure that targets were met, and remained on track.
Such responsibilities allowed me to develop effective communication skills, of which I was often required to exercise with customers both internal and external to the business, as well as members of the senior management and aforementioned colleagues.
Area Stock Movement Operative at PPG Architectural Coatings EMEA (2007-01 – 2020-01)
During my time in this role I was required to be a stand-in shift leader, and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, adhering to all company guidelines, including health & safety across three warehouses, responsible for all employees, agency staff and contractors. I would often work closely with shift leaders and partake in daily update meetings with various departments, including senior management. We would conduct biannual warehouse stock-takes of which my duties also covered from an operational perspective.
From time to time I would also go out in the company van and do multi drop deliveries on behalf of our decorating centres to cover holidays and sickness.

My responsibilities within this role covered picking orders correctly, safely, and effectively so that we could meet the company targets.
Maintenance Person at Independent Leisure Ltd (2006-01 – 2007-01)
I was required to maintain various leisure facilities to a high standard which enabled me to practise within various trades.
Warehouse Technician at Carlsberg UK Ltd (1990-01 – 2004-01)
At Carlsberg I was an experienced charge hand responsible for 13 individuals. I was solely responsible for ensuring deadlines were consistently met and organised monthly update meetings to report on progress. I was also a health and safety representative within the company, and created a successful new loading team.
Multi Drop Driver / Warehouse Person at UFO Distribution Ltd (1987-01 – 1990-01)
Nationwide goods hauler responsible for delivering and collecting. This role required me to develop personal time management skills in order to complete hauls efficiently. I would also have to ensure all paperwork was collected and correct, as well as maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles to a high standard.
