I have over twenty two years experience of teaching children and young adults. This has included 1-2-1 tuition, small group tuition, band ensembles and music lecturing.

Most recently I held the position of Assistant Centre Manager for Access Creative College London (formally Access To Music) which specialises in creative subjects for 16-19 yr old learners.
I have helped to design, shape & implement the music curriculum for Levels 2,3 and 4 music courses as well as writing Level 5 & 6 Music Units for Pearson Education Ltd. I have extremely high aspirations for all my learners and I use outstanding motivational techniques, support and teaching practice to inspire and ensure they reach their full potential.
I have an awareness of and a commitment to Equality & Diversity issues. My role also required that I was a Designated Safeguarding Lead and I successfully completed several Safeguarding and Child Protection courses. I have a current Advanced DBS certificate.
As well as teaching, I continue to work as a freelance professional musician with over 30 years experience. I studied at Trinity College of Music and since leaving I have worked at the highest level within my profession. My up to date industry knowledge means I feel I have an exceptional insight into the current employability skills that are required for succeeding as a musician.
My primary instruments are drums and percussion. I also play trumpet and have a basic working knowledge of most western instruments including piano. I am well accustomed to working under pressure, to strict targets and deadlines.
I am an exceptional communicator and a natural team player as well as having excellent leadership and organisational skills.
