Electronics design, development and support services from concept to production
Experienced electronics engineer, mostly in senior technical roles and with managerial experience. Chartered engineer (MIET).
Anchoram Ltd - Director, 2019-present. Providing technical support, advice and electronic design services (digital, analogue and general electronics design) for multiple clients, for a wide range of industrial, commercial and consumer products.
FireAngel Safety Technology Ltd - 2001-2019. Initially Senior Electronics Engineer, subsequently Engineering Manager then Chief Engineer. First employee to be taken on by the company, I was the only engineer in the company for the first five years. Wide-ranging responsibilities (other than electronics design) included certification test support, liaising with fire research bodies, patent applications, company representation on an industry technical committee, production setup, long term test setups for critical components, and the creation and signoff of technical documents.
Parker Hannifin - Electronics Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer, 1989-200. The company provided a range of specialist engineering solutions utilising a combination of hydraulics, electronics, software and mechanical disciplines. Typically, I would be providing the electronics design and support required for a project, as part of a multidisciplinary team. Around half my time was spent on military projects including specialist generator sets for both the MoD and customers in the USA. Other projects were for one-off industrial applications such as hose test rigs (testing hydraulic hoses to destruction) and safety steam feed shut-off actuators for nuclear power stations.
Datron Instruments - Analogue Engineer, 1986-1989. As part of a team of Electronics Engineers having primarily analogue backgrounds, I designed and developed circuits within high precision electronic calibration and measurement equipment.
GEC - Electronics Design Engineer, 1984-1986. I designed high voltage dc supplies and modulators for miniature military microwave transmitters (magnetron based), for use in aircraft and missiles.
Electronic Engineering, BEng 2-ii (hons), University of Liverpool, 1984.
