Tasmin Khan

I am a fully qualified teacher who is looking to utilise my knowledge and experience in child development to support children on a 1-to-1 basis. I am confident that my nine years of childcare experience, four of which were spent as an Early Years class teacher, have given me the foundation I need to excel in this new challenge. I strongly believe that no child should be limited by their circumstances, and instead should be challenged and nurtured to develop a love of learning.

Given the complexity of our educational landscape; adaptability, creativity, and adopting a reflective practice, underpins my approach to planning engaging and meaningful lessons and experiences. I have always advocated for inclusive practices and have the aptitude and experience to differentiate learning based on the individual needs of children. Throughout my career, I have become competent in understanding developmental milestones and can confidently adapt approaches, activities, and resources to meet the needs of children who may have developmental barriers, such as Speech and Language difficulties, or challenging those who shows signs of being Gifted and Talented.

I am also very experienced in working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, and strongly believe all children should be given the foundations and means to achieve educational and personal success. Moreover, I am equipped in supporting pupils who have English as an additional language, as well as managing those with challenging behaviour.

I am committed to creating a positive and nurturing environment, which in the past has consistently led to c.80% of my class meeting their Early Learning Goals by the end of the academic year. I am confident at using innovative and targeted methods to enhance learning experiences which utilise pupils’ interests to drive engagement. I pride myself on being an 'outstanding' teacher and would be willing to share teaching videos I have created for my pupils for remote learning, if required.

Overall, I equate my occupational success to my pupils’ academic progress, as well as facilitating their own passion for learning. I have hugely enjoyed developing myself as a teacher in my current position and would be very keen to apply my skills in a more personable way.

Overall, as a qualified teacher, I am not only accomplished in supporting children academically, but I also pride myself on shaping and inspiring children to be kind, positive and confident individuals. I hope this information and my accompanying CV, illustrates my passion and dedication to working with children and supporting them to reach their full potential, both in and out of an educational setting.
