A motivated and ambitious Mechanical Engineering graduate from Lancaster University and current MSc AI student at UWE. My time at university, combined with my work experience has sparked a passion for developing AI within the engineering sector. I am looking for a position that enables me to use and develop my communication, critical thinking skills and technical knowledge in a challenging environment that will push me out of my comfort zone.
Creating a Digital Twin of Lancaster University’s Wind Turbine - Final Year Dissertation
● Used MATLAB to create a digital twin using wind turbine data for different machine learning algorithms.
● Analysed the performance of each numerical model using various methods such as mean squared error and confusion matrices.
● I which of the three models best predicted the behaviour of the wind turbine over its full operational range and explored how to implement this to create a full digital twin.
Robot Project – Group Based
● Group task to create a robot capable of following a line and firing two ping-pong balls into target zones.
● As a team we created a single-arm spring-loaded design which gave me beneficial experience in the process of design and manufacturing.
● My responsibility was to create the electronics for the line following capability of the robot, providing excellent experience of building circuits and fault finding.
● The robot followed the line and fired both balls into the required zones successfully.
Assembly and Test Engineer, Hiden Analytical, Warrington 2024-2025
● Responsible for the assembly, tuning and testing of mass spectrometers.
● This involved a variety of tasks: building the vacuum system and quadrupole gauge, assembling the electronics, tuning the voltages, and running tests using different gas mixtures.
● Due to the wide range of responsibilities and varied instruments I was assembling and testing I was able to develop my ability to adapt to any situation.
● As the final person involved in the manufacturing process, it was my role to identify, diagnose and rectify any issues prior to shipping. This gave me valuable experience in the process of problem-solving.
● I also had the opportunity to work collaboratively with the mechanical and electrical design teams to design and test products to meet specific customer requirements.
● MSc Artificial Intelligence 2025 - 2026
● Key Modules: AI for Search and Optimisation, Machine Learning Algorithms, Machine Learning for Language and Vision, Knowledge Based and Hybrid Systems, Knowledge Management.
Lancaster University 2021 - 2024
● BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering accredited by IMechE and Engineering Council.
● Grade: 2:1.
● Key modules: Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Management, Power Engineering, Energy Conversion, Design and Manufacturing.
King’s Leadership Academy, Warrington 2014 - 2021
● A Levels: Mathematics (A), Physics (A*), Chemistry (A*)
● GCSEs/Equivalents: 11 GCSE/Equivalents with grades 9-7, including Mathematics (9) and English Language (7).
