Certificate in Health and Safety, as well as several other, certificates, attained whilst working as an apprentice at Compass Group Ltd.
Throughout my life, I have attained several skills and experienced many things. As a Compass
Apprentice Commis Chef, I’ve worked with different branches of the company and have been stationed at different restaurants within banks such as Citibank, Deloitte, and Society General
Bank. I was based with the RA Group. My role entailed assisting with food preparation work and basic cooking, which included measuring food ingredients and portion sizes, all under the supervision of a senior chef.
Throughout my time working in the restaurants, I’ve rotated through a variety of sections - sauce, vegetables, butchery, and deli sandwiches, to name a few. Within my studies, I learnt about the theoretical side of working as a chef, as well as the health and safety guidelines that accompany it.
I have a vast range of experience working as a catering assistant/kitchen porter with different companies through Coople agency and Off to Work agency. I have worked as a kitchen assistant/porter at companies such as Hampton Court Palace, Ritz, Din Tai Fung, Arcadia, the
National Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, and many more. Thus I have experience in reading and implementing recipes and I'm very capable of carrying out physical tasks. Working for these different companies allowed me to become accustomed to working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
My passion and love for cake baking have led me to train one-on-one with experienced bakers such as Victoria from ‘Piece of Cake’. I completed a 4 day intense ‘Cake Baking and Decorating’
training course over 4 weeks with Cake World. In addition, I did a 1 day intense ‘Cake Baking and
Decorating’ training course with Rosalind Miller Cakes. I did a one-day intensive course at Bread
Ahead in Borough Market. I am also self-taught as every day I search online and look to get new ideas for creations. I have also freelanced and baked for friends, family and customers. You can see some of my work on my portfolio website which includes images of some of my bread baking work.
I have trained in Hall Decoration with Eclipse decorators. I learned how to decorate, install backdrops etc. I also have experience in Event Management, at Church for over 7 years I have been a youth leader at church and have been in charge of organising several youth events such as BBQs,
training camps, retreats, masterclass events etc.
I also have experience with cooking for small and large amounts of people. Often catering at parties and events hosted by friends and family. Also for my church, I would often cook and cater for events we were hosting such as church services, retreats, training camps and seminars etc.
I am more than capable and willing to get my hands dirty and undergo further training in any field, I'm a fast learner. I can assure you that every task presented to me will be executed with
100% effort, and absolute willingness to learn and improve. I'm in dire need of work to be able to sufficiently provide for my daughter and myself.
