Experience
Kitchen Assistant - Banff care home LTD - Banff
(2022-03 - 2024-05)
Working as a kitchen assistant in a care home has included many responsibilities such as cleaning, drying and storing away dishes and kitchen equipment, communicating between the chefs and carers, helping to serve food and maintaining the kitchen to be of a healthy standard. Having experience in this job has helped me to greatly develop my knowledge of food and hygiene standards and to learn to be fast paced and quick on my feet at all times. It has also taught me how to work effectively on my own at times, or in groups such as with chefs, other kitchen assistants and carers.
Carer - Banff Care Home LTD - Banff
(2023-12 - 2024-05)
Being a carer in the care home had given me even more responsibilities such as cleaning, dressing, moving and feeding residents throughout the day. I would ensure that they are comfortable, safe and happy while they are being cared for in my hands. This experience gave me develop my compassion, patience and empathy towards a vulnerable group of people.
It also helped me to develop further being attentive to detailed and observant when keeping an eye on residents and trying to help understand them when they may be unable to communicate the same way as I do.
Retail Assistant - Morrisons Daily - Banff
(2024-05 - 2024-07)
Before moving away, I had decided I wanted a summer job with a new area of work, this being retailing. While working at Morrisons I had fulfilled many duties of restocking and doing regular stock rotation, cleaning the workplace, working at the till and checking dates on products regularly. Working at Morrisons has helped me to be better at multitasking and being very quick paced.
It has also helped me develop my social skills with talking and helping out customers or my colleagues. It has also helped me to have more intuition when deciding what to do and how to get all tasks done for the shift and to listen to instructions and be able to be a quick learner.
Team Member - Greggs - Alloa High St
(2024-11 - 2026-01)
After moving I was successful in finding a job as a team member at Greggs. With this job I have many different responsibilities such as serving at the tills, baking off products and making sandwiches, handling online orders such as just eat and many more. Working at Greggs helped to show the direct interaction from worker to customer, to abide by food and safety acts and also with working flexible shifts such as open shifts early in the mornings, to closing late at night.
It has shaped me into knowing the responsibilities of helping run a shop and being able to work many different areas in the job all in one shift.
