Having spent my University Education studying Television Production at the University of Portsmouth, my understanding towards storytelling, pacing and visual motif within both Offline and Online editing has developed to a high level.
This along with my developed understanding towards the importance of organisational skills involved in post-production and beyond, has helped me to become an efficient and creative video editor, with a keen eye for emotion and narrative within the edit.
My professional experience, although limited, has been very successful in helping both myself develop as a freelance video editor, and the organisation I worked for to achieve their aims and goals.
I have previously worked for The BOPHA School Project, a charity offering aid to schools in underdeveloped South-East Asian communities, to create a promotional mini-documentary with the aim of raising funds for further visits. This project ended successfully for both parties, helped to raise over £12,000 for the charity, and funding another aid relief trip to Cambodia in mid-2023.
My focus throughout my Television Production course at the University of Portsmouth was very much video editing and post-production as a whole. This course provided me with new skills developed of the challenges of working on many different projects, with many different delivery requires simultaneously. These projects ranged from 3-4 minute VTs with 5-7 day turnovers, to 15 minute documentaries with focus on character storytelling, all then way to reality TV mini series in a 4x20" format.
